Forbidden Fruit, located in Austin, Texas, is dedicated to your body's needs. It is a woman-owned and operated sex positive business serving the entire community. Our mission is to help create erotic self-awareness and improve intimate communication in relationships through a knowledgeable staff offering quality products and services, like our workshops. Our slogan: "Make Everyday Valentine's Day".

Forbidden Fruit was born in 1981 in a cozy storefront on Neches Street. In 1993, a small fetish boutique and body piercing salon was opened inside of XO Fashions on Guadalupe. In 1995, the fetish boutique and body piercing salon was moved into Garb-a-Gogo on Guadalupe.

In 1996, a full service body arts salon offering piercing, tattooing, and henna decoration was opened in our own space on 6th Street. That was also the year of the opening of the separate fetish boutique at 107-A North Loop Boulevard and the closing of all operations on Guadalupe. Sadly, on November 1st, 2004 , due to mounting losses and a continuing weak Austin economy, we closed our 6th St. Body Arts Salon after 9 illustrious years, and leased our building to another operator.

In 1998 the fetish boutique on North Loop moved across the street to 108 and into a bigger and better space. It is now the "Fantasy Boutique". In the Fall of 2000, we started offering online shopping via e-commerce. We offer some products unique to Forbidden Fruit and some of our "old favorites" that we've been selling for years. We continue to take phone orders and ship our products on a daily basis via the US Postal Service.

For over 15 years, Forbidden Fruit has consistently won both readers and critics polls awards in the Austin Chroncicle, Triangle and other publications, for it's superior customer service, outstanding mix of products and service to the community. Accolades include: kudos from Bust Magazine; "Best Lingerie/Naughty" 1997-2011, The Austin Chronicle; "Best Lesbian Toystore" ,"Best Body Modification Business" and "Best Adult Toy Store" in The Texas Triangle.
